Three Cool Online Tools

Sometimes, when you are creating Web pages, it is hard to figure out the palette to use to make it easy on the eyes and colorful. These two tools can help you make decisions, and give you the information to input the correct color into your HTML code, too!

In addition, simply upload a picture and then enter its URL on this page, and you are presented with a palette of colors to use that enhance the picture's colors!

Kathy, I always appreciate your leads on cool tools.

I've found a tool you might want to use called Rollyo.com (http://rollyo.com/). For roll your own search engine.

The concept is sweet for anyone seeking to teach information fluency or just to build some specific resources.

You set up an account.

You pick a topic.

You add websites you trust.

Rollyou creates a 'mini' search engine that just crawls the sites you specify. (It is based on Yahoo tech.)

I think this tool could be used by teachers to teach search skills. Teachers can contain their students focus on pre-vetted sites amd not have to create link farms for their kids. Instead they could use that time to teach kids how to search in a safe environment.

Everyone wins!
