Mels' Drive-In Sightings

Mel's Diner, on South Van Ness Ave in San Francisco, was around for many years before being used as a location in American Graffiti. It was torn down shortly after the filming. Visit the Mel's Drive-In Home Page!

American Graffiti, the 1973 movie, was the inspiration for this diorama of Mel's Drive-In. Produced by the Franklin Mint in the 1980's, this pewter diorama measures 17" x 13" x 7". The four classic cars included are the '32 Ford Coupe, a 1956 Thunderbird, a Corvette, and a '58 Chevy Impala. You can see a dozen happy pewter people enjoying themselves.
